For 2027: A 3-day NASPA-rated Main Event over MLK Jr. weekend

• Early Bird: January 15, 2027 - 5 games

• Main Event: January 16-18, 2027 - 20 games (8-8-4)

• Cross-Tables Listings: EB (NWL), EB (CSW), ME (NWL), ME (CSW)

• Entry fee: 

  • Early bird $30

  • Main event: $140 till October 31, $150 after October 31.

• Lexicons: NWL23 and CSW24

• Divisions: 1 CSW division & 3 NWL divisions determined based on the number of entrants.

• Cutoffs: NWL division rating cutoffs TBD by Oct. 31 w/ 100 rating point play-up option.

  • Any divisions on Cross-Tables are approximate till cutoffs are determined

• Format: Swiss + KOTH. Director may adjust in the best interest of the division or event, including Gibsonization

• CSW notes: Division goes forward with at least 8 players, 5-point challenge. We would then apply to be WESPA-rated.

• Limited to the first 100 paid players. Waitlist thereafter.

• NASPA-rated: NASPA membership must be up-to-date in Member Services

• Prizes: $15,000 minimum prize pool guaranteed, thanks to generous San Antonio donors - Minimum $1,500 for Division A and CSW champions!

• Payment: See registration form or flyer for where to pay. No walk-ins. All entry fees must be paid on or before January 14, 2027. After this date, tentative registrants will be dropped from the tournament

• Equipment: Please bring boards, tiles, clocks, and score sheets if you can

• Streaming: NWL Division A and CSW players should anticipate the possibility of being on video livestream, especially if in contention for prizes
